1861 PCGS PR63 CAC Pop ONE! Rarest Copper-Nickel Proof 1c! 2002 Slab Indian Cent

Description: High-end coin in 2002 slab, so could easily upgrade today. TRUE Civil War issue, officially minted April 15 with the proof sets (see Breen Encycl, p 274, Breen-2933). $2,000-plus realized for two non-CAC PR63's recently auctioned. šŸ”“ 90% BUYBACK GUARANTEE: Within three years from payment, we will repurchase this choice coin for at least 90% of the purchase price, less Ebay fees, postage, and sales tax (if any). Coin and holder must be undamaged. CAC and CMQ stickers must still be affixed. Original buyer only. šŸ”“ GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICE: We will beat any other Ebayer's price by 25% of the difference. Compared coins must be identically certified, aesthetically similar, and in stock. Valid at time of purchase only. Also applies to most of our other certified items. šŸ”µ CMQ = David Hall's version of a CAC sticker, which thus denotes superior eye appeal and technical quality. Hall is PCGS's founder and the greatest grading expert and coin dealer of all time. Both he and Greg Roberts, another numismatic superstar, must agree on every coin's CMQ approval. A billion-dollar company make a buy/sell market in CMQ coins. CMQ places far more emphasis on eye appeal than CAC does. Picky CMQ approves merely a small minority of coins submitted. āœ… Green CAC = choice, high-end, possibly under-graded. āœ… Fussy CAC has approved just this ONE of the 57 certified by PCGS and NGC. Many tallied in the population reports are resubmissions or crossovers of the same coins. Even so, population just 174 in ALL grades combined including non-CAM, CAM, and DCAM, plus merely 88 at NGC, by far the lowest totals in the copper-nickel proof set. More than 600 proofs melted (see Breen Encycl, p 220), so the actual mintage is in the 300's although it may be closer to 200 going by the population proportions relative to the other four copper-nickel proof dates. The price sheets are way too low due to infrequent and old auction appearances, and thus lack of pricing data. For proof (no pun intended), see our 90% Buyback Guarantee above. Neither conserved nor doctored, unlike many 1861 proof cents in "problem free" PCGS slabs. Could easily upgrade as is or even more so after conservation, but we prefer originality. Easily PR67 CAMEO by third-tier slab and raw standards, PR68 DEEP CAMEO after the usual doctoring. Stick with NGC and PCGS; ignore excuses from third-tier coin sellers (ask them if they will buy back for 90% less selling fees, as we will for this conservatively graded beauty).
