The Victoria and Albert museum has a few in their collection! In the early 1900's , manufacturers started making wool swimming suits as the wool kept it's shape when wet! I actually think that this swimming suit was made perhaps from a sweater? It has the most soulful mends!! I purchased this from a personal collection, I find it fascinating! It would be fabulous framed!! MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approximately: 24 inches around at the waist 11 inches long on the side edge. CONDITION : This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are small holes dotted all around. There are wonderful hand mends on this piece also. It could use a hand wash ~ It's a lovely soulful piece ~ ideal for any collection ~ ( condition reflected in the price) EFF 957
