Description: This is a hard-to-find 1974 postcard of legendary goalie Vladislav Tretiak of the Soviet Union National Team. Graded PSA-2.5 (GOOD+), this 50-year-old card is the only one that PSA has graded. As you can see, it looks really nice, with a clean surface, good corners, and a nice glossy finish. This is a rare chance to get this postcard, which is not usually seen even in poor, ungraded condition. Considered to many to be the greatest goalie to ever play, Tretiak helped lead CCCP to three Olympic gold medals and one silver medal, as well as 10 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) world championships and nine IIHF European championships. He was the first Soviet player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. In fact, he was the first Hall of Fame inductee who had trained outside North America. In his final season for CSKA Moscow in 1983-84, his record was 22-0 and a goals-against average of 1.89. His overall GAA for that team was slightly higher, at 2.31, and in international competition, it was 1.80 in the Olympics and 1.92 in World Championship game. Not surprisingly, he was named a first all star in the Soviet league every year from 1971 to 1984. In those 14 years, he won 13 league titles. Please let me know if you have any questions. Offers welcome.
