This extremely well-crafted piece features iridescent mother of pearl inlaid work in Asian motifs, with a Navy aviator military insignia at the top. This frame was most likely made during a war (WWI, WWII, or Korean War) and brought back home as a commemorative memento. The frame quality indicates it was made in Korea, a country famous for its' lacquer ware, but it could be of Chinese origin as well. Currently the frame holds the photo of a distinguished Navy man, and it is signed "Always your Star, Adovio (sp?)"
