Description: Lovely miniature portrait of Marie Antoinette, signed Marc at lower right. Watercolor, most likely on paper, we have not opened the back or removed it from its gilt metal frame. The portrait measures about 3.5" x 2.75", the frame is just over 4.5 inches tall and has an easel back plus hanging ring. Very good condition with only very minor signs of age - see photos for further condition details. This is one of several antique miniature paintings and metal frames that we recently purchased from a retiring antiques dealer. This - and others - came from a box that he had packed away from the late 1970s. We left the price tag on it which reflected his original asking price back in the 1970s.
