Description: In excellent condition dating from the Art Deco Period Anglo Indian Sterling Silver and green guilloche enamel heavy hinged Box fully hallmarked By Cooke & Kelvey Calcutta.An authentic Indian Colonial Art Deco item from the 1920's.The beautiful sterling box weighs 13 ounces and it measures 5 1/8" long X 3 1/2" wide X 1 1/8" high.On the inside there is a removable clear Lucite tray which is made to fit inside perfectly, in exactly the same octagonal shape of the silver box. This clear tray is separated in the middle in order to create two separate compartments.It was probably made to be a cigarette box.The oval green domed guilloche enamel in the middle of the lid measures 2" X 1 1/2".The box is fully hallmarked with C&K, Cobra, SIL and 925 on the outside of the bottom upper part which is covered with the lid when closed.Very beautiful, well made and rare find!
