Description: These are beautiful candlesticks that may be older than they appear in their gold shininess. They have been gilded in gold, or gold-plated, and beneath the gilding can be seen more than one area of previous dings and wear that the gilding covers. It also covers the hand turning under the bases. They are a very elegant pair and I cannot be certain that they were not made in the 20th century from an old mold and hand-turned at that later date. Or they could date to maybe the 1790s, if not in fact certainly in spirit and style. These beautiful candlesticks grace wherever they are placed. 10 1/2" tall4 1/2" base diameter
