Description: Excellent Hoi An Hoard Chinese Porcelain Bowl with COA Ming Dynasty circa 1450 This is a particularly nice example with shiny glaze still intact (the glaze on most of these examples is either dull mat or gone after sitting on the ocean floor in salt water for 500 ish years) About 6 inches wide and about 3 inches tall. About 356 grams in weight. Comes with its Certificate of Authenticity signed by SooHin Ong who was one of the people who recovered these piece from the Ship wreck (see photos) The Hoi An Hoard pieces that were put up for sale were sold in a number of auctions around the World. Here in Canada, the auction took place on Feb 16, 2004. It was preceded by a presentation by Mr SooHin Ong. I attended that auction, where I purchased this piece. Fully documented ship wreck pieces like this are one of the only ways you can be 100% positive you are looking at a real circa 1450 Ming Dynasy example. Excellent antique condition as shown. No cracks, no repairs, no chips. Unusually good example. There are presently lots of fake Hoi An pieces on ebay - but none of them have the COA that came with each one when they were originally sold at auction!
