I do all the work myself, I do not have anyone to help me when I make a hat and every hat starts out as a blank fur felt that must be shaped so it even looks like a hat, so each hat takes many hours of work to complete. Like everything else the cost of fur felts is going up, a hat made of beaver cost 2 to 3 times the cost of a rabbit fur felt. Shipping I ship my hats in boxes 14"x14"x7", I make a cylinder shape using poster board and tape that to the center of the box, then fill the area around the cylinder with bubble wrap, I place the hat inside a clear plastic bag and put the hat into the box with the crown of the hat in the cylinder, I place 2 layers of bubble wrap over top of the brim, then I put a shipping label inside the box, a letter to the customer, a packing slip and everything has the customer's address on it, then I use packaging tape on the outside of the box, covering all joints to protect against odors and or dust, then I tape a shipping label to the box, if you open the box on the side with the label you will be looking at the bottom of the brim, after removing the bubble wrap and the paper work.
