Characteristics: Fock. rast. Max. aperture Min. aperture Lep-in aperture. MDF (m) Filter (mm) Weight (g) Length (mm) 120mm f/2.0 f/2.0 any 62 Approx. 300g 140mm Additional Information: KO-120 120/2.1 (GOZ/ZOMZ) is a simplified projection lens for 35 mm film. Made according to a rather simple aplanatic scheme of two gluings. It has a unique pattern straight from the 19th century. Peculiarities: - quite high resolution with f/2.1 - approximately at the level of Jupiter-11 and higher, i.e. about 45-50 lines; - curved field - the zone of sharpness is arcuate; - twisted bokeh (the degree of twist depends on the distance to the background); -very light with a large aperture ratio (a similar planar weighs more than a kilogram); - from the newer KO-120M available in the database, it differs by a smaller aperture ratio (2.1 vs. 1.8), a smaller frame diameter (52.5 vs. 62.5), a third less weight and a different enlightenment (slightly yellow), a more even field and smaller HA; -very old - one non-working copy of mine has a 1941 release, and a working copy was made in the 50s; -Easily placed on SLR cameras, incl. and nikon; -requires refinement - blackening especially. And blends. And a focuser. And, preferably, diaphragms. -covers a full frame; In general - a wonderful lens for your money. Reviews for the KO-120 120 mm f/ 2.1 lens Use period: 1 year Strengths: The KO-120 has good sharpness from an open aperture, the highest aperture for such a FR and an interesting, unusual aplanat pattern. On covered apertures (2.8-5.6), the lens gives a very high-quality image in terms of resolution. KO-120 is quite rare. It is easy to transplant it to a DSLR, if you do not bother with the aperture. If you freeze, it will be more difficult. Weak sides: It is quite difficult to find a normal focuser for the KO-120 - some 135 / 2.8 and 200 / 3.5 lenses can serve as them. In general, adapting the KO-120 well will not be cheap, but not more expensive, of course. Comment: The lens is definitely worth the fuss - it has very tasty characteristics and an equally tasty picture. I have been using the KO-120 ever since I glued it with a regular tube for focusing like a trombone (even then it pleased me with sharp beautiful portraits), now I have a new steel case, a Telear helicoid and 20 lep. diaphragm.
