Description: Jelly Floyd Gardner 1974 Laughlin Old Time Black Stars #7 PSA VG-EX 4 Born in Arkansas in 1896, Jelly was one of baseball's fleetest men and line-drive hitter. His career lasted from 1919 to 1933, beginning with the Detroit Stars. He played with the Chicago American Giants as leadoff man in the early twenties, then joined the Lincoln Giants (1927) and later the Homestead Grays. After a second period the American Giants, he wound up his career back with the Stars. Gardner threw righthanded but was a left-side swinger.
