The Gudebrod Company made the finest silk thread for many years. Silk thread is also used for other arts, such as fly-tying. THIS LOT IS FOR FULL SPOOLS OF SIZES D, E, F, FF & FFF. These are the thin to heavy gauges. D, E & F are the most used for pearl knotting, F, FF & FFF are great for gemstones. You can make a self-needle using silk thread by using Henrietta's Beading Glue, available in my store. Below is a list of the length of silk on a full spool. Here is diameter information and the approximate number of yards on a FULL spool (these are full 1/2 Ounce spools): D = .012" (.315 mm) 260 yards E = .0128" (.325mm) 200 yards F = .0137" (.348mm) 140 yards FF = .015" (.381mm) 115 yards FFF = .0165" (.419mm) 101 yards Please note that these are from my now-closed retail store and some spools have come loose or have lost the sticker on the bottom. They are all 1/2 ounce full spools, however. Unfortunately, Etsy allows only 10 photos, so I have linked the variations to the most unusual colors.
