The NWOBHM movement swept the UK from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, producing bands such as Iron Maiden and Saxon. Tigers of Pantin (hereafter referred to as Tigers), known for producing John Sykes, is an important band that cannot be avoided when talking about this movement. Sykes played on "Spellbound" and "Crazy Nights" (both in 1981), and the single "Love Potion No.9" (1982), before joining Thin Lizzy. He went on to become one of the top guitarists in the hard rock/heavy metal scene with Whitesnake and Blue Murder. This is the band that marked the beginning of Sykes. This album, "Live 1981 - Hellbound Spellbound," is a recording of a live performance at Nottingham Rock City on April 23rd, during the 1981 UK tour to promote the release of the hard rock/heavy metal masterpiece "Spellbound." The band lineup at this time was the strongest in Tigers history, and Chris Tsangarides, who produced "Spellbound," recorded the album at the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio to capture the excitement of their live performance, but it has been shelved for many years. It was released once after that and has been out of print for a long time, but it has now been beautifully revived as a new edition with the latest remixes.
