One of the early "Industar-22" lenses was produced at the Krasnohorsk plant named after S. A. Zverev since 1948, where it was designed under the direction of M. D. Maltsev, but it was a copy of the Leitz Elmar lens used on Lake II cameras. The optical scheme of the entire line of "Industar" lenses is the well-known Tessar scheme, which differs from the earlier triplet scheme by achromatic gluing of two lenses, which provided better optical quality of the lens and less aberrations.
