This carving is lovely. This fine looking Seal is raising it's head looking at what is coming. This is a very primitive piece that shows the concept of the animal lives in the stone until the artist reveals it in the living stone. This carving is about 6.5" long x 3.5" wide and stands about 5" tall. This piece is signed on the base in Inuit syllabic that is quite hard to see. It also has a paper Igloo label with the number 4 on it. I think this is a very early piece and is quite rare. Nothing broken or repaired. A lovely example of primitive Native Inuit Carving.
