In 1997, Kadeniuk flew on NASA`s Space Shuttle Columbia as part of the crew of international mission STS-78. The Ukrainian astronaut and researcher performed a wide range of tasks for a joint Ukrainian-American project that studied the impact of a micro-gravity environment on the growth and development of higher plants. This banknote is made of paper and features a watermark (an image of the globe with the continents). A 1.5 mm security thread is embedded into the paper along the short side of the note.
