Description: Praktika RTL Astro / Micro Convertible 35mm film camera with wast level finder & pentprisum finder. Very limited production (1976-1978) and was marketed to the American scietific community for astrological and macro work. I purchased this camera from a professional astronomer who worked in an Arizona University. Has a M42 screw mount 50mm lens. Camera has been tested. Shutter seems to be accurate and the curtain is metal. The lens has slow moving aperture blades. The lens works, but the blades are a bit slow to return to neutral position. You still can use lens and get good exposures. The person I purchased this from had the body mounted to a Leica telescope. The meter inside could not be tested due to lack of a battery. Not showing much signs of ware or use. No dents or dings. Made in Dresden, East Germany during the Sovet era. I could not find alot about this camera except that is quiet rare. I have been collecting cameras for 50 years and this is the only one I have ever come acrossed. Shipping is USPS. Email questions.
