Rare Elegant 19” Kestner Lady China W/ Braided Bun Beautiful Fashion Gown

Description: This rare and delicate lady doll is from my personal collection and is from an antique doll auction house in Melbourne,Australia. She was made by the porcelain factory of J. D. Kestner in Germany around 1865- 1870. She has an elegant presence with a soft kind expression. She is 19” tall with a shoulder-head of 5” wide and 5” height. Has no repairs nor cracks to the shoulder-head but a hairline in the REAR on right shoulder. Has hair rubs on the front and dust in her curls. Has brush strokes at the temple and a bouffant type upswept style in the front and looks like tiny part of a headband. The rear of her head has an unusual rolled braid in the middle of the head that comes down to curls. I have never seen this style . Small thin lips with a white space that curl up at ends in a smile….signature of Kestner factory. Has lighter blue eyes. Has a muslin body which is stamped made by Ruth McCalahan and is vintage with china limbs. Toes of boots have wear and the muslin arms are not stuffed with sawdust. She has a cotton wire hoop under her two piece burgundy dress with cotton pantilets and slip trimmed with cotton eyelet lace. Has a black doll corset with fragile tying cords and it is stiff. Her dress is trimmed with black beading on the bodice and black lace at neckline and has a faint oldish smell. Lots of ruching at the dress shoulders and pelvis area very intricate. She has a cute antique doll purse that has needlepoint on the front and it opens and closes. This is a beautiful rare lady china lady made by a highly known manufacturer and would be a precious addition to a collection. Reflections are from the camera. The photos are part of the description.
