Description: Rare, hard to find - Luigi Kasimir signed etching of Kitzbuhel, from 1926. Artist signed in the lower right. On the lower left is the word Kitzbuel, above the numbers 16.11, and the date 1926. Luigi Kasimir pioneered the technique for colored etchings using four to six individual plates to impart the color on each edition. The color in this etching is refined and sharp. Each edition is virtually an original work as it was all hand done. The Luigi Kasimir catalog entitles this work: Kitzbuhel (farbig). It's in a frame of beautifully detailed wood, black on side, front is gilded. The frame measures 26½" x 27½", has some wear on edges, but overall condition is fine. The frame might need a new matt, but could be hung as is. This was given to us from an old friend who purchased etchings. We can only find it in the Luigi Kasimir catalog by Halm & Goldmann, Vienna, on page 21. The etching is in excellent condition. It comes from a non-smoking household and we provide free shipping. All offers will be taken seriously.
