Description: Art Deco style Rookwood Pottery HUGE inkwell base or possibly a base for a hurricane lamp. Piece is marked Rookwood #1073A Art Pottery, Dated 1905, measures 6" diameter, and 3" high and 2" top opening diameter. No insert or lid but I could see where a hurricane lamp bottom base that's 2" wide would fit easily. It could be as tall or high as you like! See all photos of this colorful and unique Rookwood! It's very large. It's the shape of a huge inkwell without the insert but is most likely some sort of hurricane lamp base. Nice color, just a little wear to the side. No damage. Rookwood artist Rose Fechheimer worked there between 1896 – 1906 at Rookwood studios. Her signature is below. And, it matches this piece.
