Description: A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1948 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first volunteer U.S. Calvary regiment. The Rough Riders are famous for their charge up San Juan Hill, Cuba during the Spanish American War in 1898. The stamps feature the statue of Captain William Owen Buckey O'Neil astride his horse which is located in Prescott, Arizona. O'Neil was killed on July 1st, 1898. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as they were the day they were first sold at the post office over 75 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone interested in American History. Look in my other auctions for blocks of U.S. stamps of historical significance! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out.
