Description: Handmade Sid Luck Pottery Seagrove North Carolina Art Small Pitcher Studio Pottery Ceramic Creamer Pitcher Jug Signed Dated 1989 Handle Hand Thrown Wheel Thrown Artisan Salt Glaze Small Salt Glazed Ceramic Pitcher Handmade and Signed by Sid Luck of Luck Pottery in Seagrove, North Carolina Also functional as a creamer or as a vase for cut flowers. Measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall. Signed and dated on underside of pitcher: Sid Luck 1989 Unique Piece of Studio Pottery An interesting piece worth adding to a collection of late 20th Century Seagrove North Carolina pottery. Color: Pink and Tan The glaze is an interesting 2-layer effect with a favorite color used by many Seagrove area artists - it's varying dark and light shades of pink that are a mix both of the drip of the glaze down the pot after dipping, and the way the heat hits the piece in the kiln. Around the top rim you can see the beautiful "Dirt" color seen on many of the Luck Pottery salt glaze pieces, then beyond that down the sides, varying shades of pink. Condition: Very Fine condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no fleabites, no stains. No condition issues noted. Base is clean and unglazed. There is a "rough" feeling around the top (no chips or damage - it's the glaze.) There are some small rough spots in the glazing that does not break through to the clay body. It looks to be a mark from the kiln. We don't consider this a fault. See photos for full description. Smoke-free home.
