Made in USSR. ---------------------------------- "Industar" is a trademark of anastigmat lenses manufactured in the USSR since the early 1930s in a variety of designs and with different optical parameters. A common feature of all "Industars" was the basic optical scheme of the Tessar type, consisting of three components, the last of which, unlike a triplet, is two glued lenses. Most lenses of this type belong to the normal group and were used as standard lenses in most Soviet cameras, as well as in photographic enlargers, movie cameras, aerial cameras and other equipment. I-26m 2.8/52 (‘I’ is an abbreviation for ‘Industar’) is a standard fixed lens for some old Soviet rangefinder cameras of the ‘Zorkiy’ and ‘FED’ brands. The lens is small, lightweight, with a simple optical scheme of 4 elements in 3 groups of the ‘Tessar’ type. I-26m is very similar to its brother Industar-26m 1:2.8 F=5cm P, the lenses differ in a slightly different body and quality of coating. I-26m 2.8/52 has a more convenient focusing ring. The difference of 2 mm in focal length is only a matter of lens designation. In all other respects, the lenses are almost identical. The lens logo indicates that the lens was manufactured at the Kharkov FED Machine-Building Plant (Kharkov, Ukraine). The letter ‘m’ in the name Industar-26m indicates that this is the Modernized Industar-26 lens. A distinctive feature of the lens is a 10-blade diaphragm. The circles in the bokeh are quite smooth at all aperture values, which is a very nice little thing. The lens has smooth focusing. The focusing ring rotates 180 degrees. The minimum focusing distance is 1 meter. The lens has a depth of field and focusing distance scale.
