Description: STERLING SILVER REX FIFTH AVENUE LARGE INTRICATELY ENGRAVED COMPACT CASE w/LABELLovely condition for the age. The compact retains its original label on the interior mirror which is in very good condition and is marked STERLING near the hinge. One of the hinges is broken so one hinge allows it to be open fully (photo 11, 13, 16.) There are remnants of powder in the bottom. The sifter is in very good condition. The powder puff has definitely been used with the Rex Fifth Avenue ribbon being a bit twisted. Please see all photos and ask if in doubt. Passed down in the family, this displays beautifully...would use for display as opposed to using for personal use due to having one hinge.The compact's front has a lovely embossed swirled floral border and an engraved pattern on the back. Many of the family pieces are monogrammed; this one is not.Spring lock on front edge works fine and mirror is in amazing condition for the age.
