Description: English 1820s portrait miniature measures approximately 2.75x2 inches and frame is 4.5x5 inches. There is pencil writing on the reverse though unreadable to me. Painting condition and colors are quite strong in ebonized wood frame adorned with a bit of gold gilt. The sitter is so interesting looking with a fabulously detailed and strong face. I can feel the velvet of her hat and feather at the back. Beautiful lace details on her chin strap and the collar of her jacket, bodice, and cuffs. Holding a bouquet of rose and blue flowers. Background is a neutral muddy gray.
