Throughout my career the soldiers under my responsibility were consistently recognized as providing/conducting exceptional training. Our accomplishments included: consistently being identified as the element with an exceptional maintenance program; winning the USAREUR Army Award for Maintenance Excellence (AAME); placing second in the Department of the Army AAME competition; winning the best NEC team competition during a battalion lane competition; and being featured as the showpiece for training in Europe on the "USAREUR Today"show. As a leader I provided the motivation, standard, and direction. My soldiers did the rest and they normally exceeded the standard. This book covers various tools, worksheets, and methods of training I have utilized or encountered during my career. Where possible I attempted to provide applicable ARs, FMs and TCs that I believe are important or beneficial. I will try to provide the reader with an overview of training from APFT to weapons training. As mentioned previously, leaders are the key to successful training. An unmotivated or apathetic leader cannot be tolerated. As leaders we have an obligation to ensure that our soldiers are properly trained and equipped to ensure mission success.
