Description: This watch is the precursor to the modern day Movado "Museum" that has literally defined the Movado brand for the last 40+ years...and it was actually made by ZENITH! This collectors watch is better suited being branded as an actual ZENITH instead of Movado as it is triple signed by ZENITH, on the dial, on the inside of the case back, and uses a true ZENITH made manual wind movement. In 1968 Zenith merged with Movado to overcome complications in the US market with the Zenith Radio Company and consistent threats of legal action over the use of the name ZENITH. During this merger both Zenith and Movado released many of their most iconic models and often swapped the name on the dial as well as the movement inside to suite the market they were trying to appeal to. This watch is a prime example of that. Clearly a Zenith watch, but used with the Movado name and design to appeal to the US market. Another that comes to mind is the Movado chronograph of the 1970s that used the fully Zenith made El Primero automatic chronograph movement. Rarely seen in the men's size of 33mm (with crown) and dial color/case material combination of lacquer black dial in a 14kt solid gold case. As this piece measures 37mm lug to lug and a scant 6.2mm thick, it is truly a gentlemen dress watch. Not only does this watch carry significance as a unique model and precursor to one of the most recognized watches on earth, it's in fantastic condition! The case has never been polished, there are very few marks of any kind of this watch, it has been serviced, is keeping excellent time, and comes with a 90 day warranty from Jaydnbrok Horology and will be shipped in our felt travel pouch. Please look closely at the photos as they serve as part of this description. If you have any questions about the specifications of this watch do not hesitate to message me. I have been a professional freelance watchmaker for close to 5 years and have done many restorations of vintage watches, provided warranty work for various brands, assembly of new watches, and general repairs and service.
