Description: This RCA Model 26X4 Tube dual band radio is from around 1949. Made in the US. This is the same model as the one that Sam Spade has on his desk in the movie, The Maltese Falcon. Not that exact radio! I refurbished the wood case and it is nice condition. I replaced a few caps and the radio does work as seen in the video, but it will need more restoration and tuning for better operation. The tuner moves freely, volume control is noisey, needs a deoxit. mode switch works as it should. The small dial light works and the glass dial is in excellent condition.I did install an antenna and it does pick up stations The back cover is missing but the internal antenna plate is intact. I am also including the full schematic pak so a technician can continue replacing caps as needed and tune it.I dont have time to go further with it and my office decor is going in a different direction.
