Description: This auction is for a 8' two-piece, two tip, 5-sided bamboo fly rod blank. Blank was made by Louis Feierabend (the creator of the Super-Z ferrule) sometime between 1948 and 1952 while he was working for the Uslan Rod Co. The ferrules and tip tops have been mounted. Size 14 nickel silver super-Z/Super-Swiss style ferrules fit well and separate with a pop. 8' 2/2 8014 fly rod blank is new old stock but does have a few minor cosmetic blemishes (water marks, rescorcinol glue lines) and will need to be further sanded and finished out. Section measure approximately 48 1/2" in length. Should make for a very versatile and nice casting fly rod with two slightly different tips - one provides a progressive action and the other a parabolic action. Feels like a 5 or possibly a 6 weight depending on preferences - ferruled blank weighs 3.0 oz on digital scale. See pictures for full description. Sold as shown. All items sold as is and/or as found.
