Description: This is a Zenith Trans-Oceanic model 1000 built in 1959. It was professionally serviced recently and works well. The set is complete with Wavemagnet and pull-out chart. The battery box is the second style (the "tupperware box") and shows no evidence of battery corrosion. The in-handle antenna is in excellent condition and the handle is not cracked. Cosmetically, this radio has two age-related issues common to these Trans-Oceanics: The vinyl cover on the front door has shrunkThere is minor bubbling of the chrome finish on the top. Additionally, the dial light switch does not work. This set was designed to only operate on batteries and there is no AC adapter. It requires 9 D batteries which are NOT included.
