Description: Souvenir from a very long ago trip to Waltham, Massachusetts, this is a porcelain tobacco pipe rest with a miniature tobacco pipe as part of the design, along with a central graphic of the " Front of Waltham Watch Factory, " NOON ", Waltham, Mass." Workers at the factory took their lunch break at noon, and when we say "noon" we mean precisely at noon, because Waltham was famous for the accuracy of its timepieces in the 19th century and early 20th century. Marked on bottom " Made in Germany" with an incised code number of 1454. Measures about 6.25 inches x 3.25". Probably from the 1890 - 1920 era. Condition: there is wear to the gold rim and gold on the pipe, otherwise, this is in very nice condition... I see no cracks, chips or other issues. I certainly would not hesitate to give this as a gift.
