Description: WW2 6 Imperial War Museum Large Format Photos of U-Boat Surrender at Wilhelmshaven 13/5/45 This sequence of photos was taken on May 13 1945 as 7 U-boats arrived from Wesermunde under command of Korvettenkapitan Heinrich (Ajax) Bleichdrodt, Knights Cross holder with Oak-leaves for sinking in excess of 200,000 tons. The U-boats were U-150, U-291, U-720, U-739, U-779 (built in Wilhelmshaven), U-1194 and U-1198. U-150 was a type IID and the rest were type VIIC.
