Description: This original leather canteen carrier grouping belonged to the British Home Guard during World War II. Made in the United Kingdom, it is a rare piece of militaria that would be a valuable addition to any collection. The carrier is dated 1943, has another mark by tongue, appears to be 5E1, not positive, the shoulder strap marked M.E.Co. 1944. Carrier is a cross grain russet colour, 1” side straps, 3/4” straps riveted together by pop rivets and 1” Twigg Buckles. The strap came with the grouping, leather is still supple and canteen in very good condition.
