Description: This vintage Zenith Royal 500D Long Distance Transistor Radio Royal Owl Eyes is a rare find for collectors. 8 transistors, chassis 8AT40Z2 which I believe was made in 1958. This radio seems to be much less common with the black lettering on the dials. This radio comes with its original Zenith cloth carrying pouch. It is perfect for those who are into vintage items or those who appreciate the history behind it. These radios were rather large pocket radios measuring 5.5″ high, 3.5″ wide, and 1.5″ deep and they weigh 15.5 ounces without batteries. Their initial purchase price in 1955 was high at $75.00 (over $650 of todays dollars) Works, has been recapped, volume control and speaker seem great, no battery acid leaks. Scuffs due to age of course but no chips, nicks or cracks that I can see. Please see pics closely
