The purchaser is responsible for shipping charges to the point of service and for timely delivery of the radio. Turn-around times depend in part on when the radio is received and the existing workload at the time of receipt. Service is provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Normal turnaround time can be expected to be 15 days or less after receipt of the radio. FULL CHASSIS SERVICE includes chassis cleaning, tube testing (tube replacement at extra cost), replacement of all paper, and bumblebee caps (ceramic caps and mica caps are not routinely replaced), installation of a Filt-R-Pak + power supply rebuild module, cleaning and lubrication of switches and contacts, installation of new dial cords, and full IF/RF alignment. When the entire radio (suggested) is sent, peripherals such as the Wavemagnet and telescopic antennas, connecting cables, etc. will be checked out at no extra cost unless repairs or replacements are necessary. Extra cost repairs will not be made without prior approval. Extra cost items will be approved in advance and billed as extra charges. COSMETIC REPAIR/RESTORATION SERVICES: Cosmetic restoration is offered as an extra cost item ($85.00 for H500 and all 600 series radios and $100 FOR G500. G500 cosmetic restoration includes a replacement dial cover. Cosmetics include cleaning and deodorizing of the cabinet, repair of minor structural and fabric covering repairs, full re-dye of the cabinet, polishing, and clear-coating of brass fixtures, and cleaning and polishing of plastic trim. Leather restoration will be quoted on a case-by-case basis. HOW TO GET SERVICE: 1) Purchase the chassis service on eBay. 2) Ship your radio to: Tom Johnson, 108 Horizon Ridge Dr, McKinney, Texas 75071. 3) PACK YOUR RADIO SECURELY in a sturdy container, and ship the radio in an upright position (not on its back or face) to minimize damage in transit. Common damages from shipping on the back or front are fractured cabinet joints, damaged cabinet shelf, damaged front dial cover, and broken knobs. 4) Please enclose any notes on symptoms or areas you want to draw attention to. 5) Following an initial inspection, an assessment will be provided and you will be notified of anything noted out of the ordinary. Initial findings may be updated as work progresses. 6) You can choose to ship the chassis only or the entire radio (preferred). When you send the entire radio, final performance tweaks will be performed with the chassis installed in the cabinet. WARRANTY: Parts and labor are warranted for 90 days. No ongoing warranty is offered due to the age of vintage electronic equipment. My objective is to return the radio to you in as near the original as-new operating condition as possible.
